Due to   the overwhelming response to my underwater photos, Nautical Angels Productions decided to release two separate calendars: "Nautical Angels Above Water" which features magnificent women in the tropical paradises of Southeast Asia, and   "Nautical Angels Under Water" which captures beautiful women in the aquatic depths of the unknown.

For the upcoming photo shoot, I am looking for talented models who love to be in the water, are adventurous, and have interest in participating in a challenging and fascinating environment for photography.

We look forward to the worldwide release of this Calendar for January 2006.

Experience in this field is not necessary, as long as 2 criteria are met: the model must be able to open her eyes under water (this is unfortunately something that is hard to train), and the model must have some basic experience in swimming

During the shoot, we have one certified divemaster, in addition to   one dedicated safety diver for each model.

We do not exploit models, so this is a PAID shoot.

There will be no nudity.

If you are a model interested in getting trained in this very special (and growing) segment, please email me at mg@mgleiss.com

If you are a deckhand/professional yacht crew/writer, please also see our other JOB POSTINGS.

Models’ Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are the requirements to become an underwater model?

A. We require a recent full body shot including your dimensions (height, weight)

We ask the you bring three of your own outfits which could potentially be used in the shoot (bathing suit, lingerie outfit, athletic outfit).

You must be able to open your eyes comfortably under(salt)water.  If you live in a coastal area, we ask that you test this.  If you cannot open your eyes underwater, we will not be able to photograph you and will send you home immediately.  This is unfortunately a skill for which you cannot train.  Please spare us the time and expense by testing this before you apply as we can only take your word for it.

Finally having a passport, and one that allows you to travel to the determined location shoot, is mandatory. Location shoots are usually in SE Asia, and Mick's favorite location is Cebu, Philippines. Passports usually take 4-6 weeks to process. Models who cannot get their passport in time, will not be considered.

Q.  For how long must I be able to open my eyes underwater?

A. You must be able to open your eyes comfortably for at least one minute.  Comfortably means you are not squinting and rubbing your eyes.   We would like to reiterate that as we cannot train you in this skill, we cannot use you for the shoot if you can’t and will send you home immediately.

Q.  What will be covered for my trip?

A.  Bigfoot Entertainment covers economy-class, round-trip airfare, a comfortable, air-conditioned single accommodation room with Wi-Fi access, and vouchers for breakfast and dinner at our company café, Bigbucks.  Lunch is provided on set.

Q.  Do I get paid for the shoot?

A.  We are a professional production company and certainly will pay talent fees for all commercial jobs determined by your experience.  If you’re interested in TFP, you can also contact Mick to be included in one of his upcoming shots at mg@mgleiss.com

Q.  Will I get any training?

A.  Absolutely!  For the first two days, you will receive complimentary diving training.  You will also be given relaxation training which focuses on lowering your heart rate and staying underwater as calmly as possible.  Finally, breath holding training will equip you with the skills to remain underwater for at least 60 seconds.

Q.  I notice that girls in the photograph don’t have a scuba tank.  What if I need to breathe?

A.  The model in the photograph may look like she’s alone, but she is far from it!  Each model is assigned three dive masters per shoot, one dive master who is shooting, and the other two to provide air from a regulator.  Because the model does not descend with her own air tank, two of the dive masters remain on each side of her with scuba tanks.  We use two for added precaution against a malfunctioning tank.    Models will learn to use special signals to indicate her need for air.

Q.  What if I get seasick?

A.   If you are likely to get seasick, we discourage you to apply.  Much of the preparation time which includes pre-shot planning, wardrobe and makeup is spent on a catamaran that functions as a floating production facility.

Q.  What else can I bring?

A.  A great attitude.  Underwater modeling is incredibly demanding and being in a very natural environment in extremely hot weather can take a heavy physical toll.  There is plenty of down time on shoots when sets, weights and wardrobe need adjustments.  You will need plenty of patience, poise and positive thinking.

Q.  Will I be able to use the photos for my portfolio?

A.  Absolutely.  We will also provide you with a dedicated webpage on our site that will provide our audience (your fans!) with your bio, experience and contact information.

Q.  When will the calendar launch?

A.  The calendar will launch December of this year.
